Artifacts and AECT Standards

Combing through a sea of artifacts created throughout my journey in the MET program, we were charged to align these artifacts to the 2012 AECT standards. There are five standards. (Content Knowledge, Content Pedagogy, Learning Environments, Professional Knowledge and Skills and Research) Each of the standards is supported by specific indicators. (Creating, Using, Assessing/Evaluating, Managing, Ethics, Diversity of Learners, Collaborative Practice, Leadership, Reflection on Practice, Theoretical Foundations, and Method) Using course syllabi, and evaluating each resource to identify which standard and indicator it met was a complex process. Many of the artifacts created not only align with the indicators specified in the course syllabi but depending on the content, how the artifact was constructed, evaluated and revised other indicators could apply.
