Educational Technology is the study and ethical practice of facilitating learning and improving performance by creating, using and managing appropriate technological processes and resources. (Januszewski & Molenda, 2010, p.1)
This portfolio is the culminating activity for my Master’s in Educational Technology (MET) degree. In addition to obtaining a MET, I have also earned certifications in online teaching and technology integration.
The artifacts contained within this portfolio not only demonstrate the knowledge and skills that I have acquired through completion of this program but their alignment to the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT) Standards. Demonstrating professionalism and commitment to upholding standards in the profession of educational technology. The AECT is a professional organization for educators and others whose aim to improve instruction through the appropriate use of technological resources. Chosen artifacts and their alignment with the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT) Standards.
Included in the portfolio are two compositions, a rationale paper, and a reflection paper.
The rationale paper maps and describes aspects of parts or whole artifacts with the specific AECT standards.
The reflection paper discusses how lessons learned from the MET program relate to my professional practice, research, and theory.
Five video vignettes show how the artifacts demonstrate the primary criterion of each of the primary AECT standards described in the rationale paper.
There is no end to education. It is not that you read a book, pass an examination, and finish with education. The whole of life from the moment you are born to the moment you die is a process of learning ~ J. Krishnamurti
